Description | This video is demonstration for my chapter titled: Improvising Songwriting and Composition Within A Hybrid Modular Synthesis System for the book Perspectives On Music Production to be published by Routledge June 22nd 2021. It is an example of what I refer to as ‘Electro Continuo’ when using a continuous clock and dynamic waveform that will result in a continuously moving, hopefully interesting, patterns. My chapter concerns the use of a Shift Register, in this instance CopierMaschine which is an app found on the module Ornament and Crime (o_C), and use as a songwriting/composition system. The shift that takes place between a technical demonstration and then from 4'40" where the improvisation starts in earnest, illustrates in detail the expertise of the performer to undertake an unprepared improvisation to support the book chapter. |
