| Abstract | This chapter discusses a broad range of issues arising between AI and its intersection with creative music production and songwriting tasks. It discusses various tools and application scenarios, highlighting current concerns associated with AI. These include problems at the creator level, intellectual property (IP) problems, and ethical problems. Significant issues include whether AI modelling musical works and voices should be considered as copyright infringement. Ongoing issues include those of appropriation and control and whether AI acts as a form of ventriloquism and ethnoforgery. A claim of this chapter is that currently available AI cannot guarantee competitive advantage for individual users. Therefore, this chapter recommends that artists should consider developing and licensing their own AI models. |
