Abstract | Previous research suggests that diverse factors predict gender differences in entrepreneurial behaviour. This paper investigates using the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) how subjective norms, attitudes and perceived behavioural control influence Spanish university students’ entrepreneurial intention. In fact, this study allows for a better understanding of the origin of those differences; our findings reveal that the moderating effect of gender has a positive influence effect for women on the relationship between those subjective norms and the perceived behavioural control, it is found in female student’s case that these norms get to explain 19% of variability towards perceived behavioural control. The findings of this paper will allow the design of more effective education initiatives and policy makers for the future. |
