This paper aims to present an educational innovation experience in the subject of Sales Management for Marketing and Market Research Degree students at the University of Málaga (Spain). The main learning objective was to enhance the development of the general competences related to the subject through participative learning. The methodology used for this is an adaptation of the Case Method. Eight sales managers were invited to the course as speakers to share their practical experience and discuss with students about current specific problems within their respective companies. The results suggest a positive impact of the innovative methodology on the teaching and learning process. Students report an improvement in their perception of their own competences.
