Abstract | This chapter explores the evolving landscape of the biopsychosocial explanations and associated factors for mental disorder. It examines social attitudes, clinical judgments, and treatment approaches. Empirical research highlights the impact of biomedical explanations on public attitudes, clinical attitudes, and patient attitudes. The chapter concludes by emphasizing the need for a comprehensive approach that considers both biological and psychosocial factors for effective treatment and stigma reduction. Future research should investigate the interplay between these factors and develop strategies to mitigate the negative consequences of biomedical explanations. |
