Abstract | Since the beginning of recorded time, concepts about the factors which influence mental health, and the causes of psychiatric diseases have changed beyond recognition. Indeed, the behavioral changes induced by disorders of mental health have hitherto been ascribed to possession by evil spirits or the influence of the moon. Yet, psychiatric conditions are now being reclassified as medical diseases by advances in genetics, neurosciences, and other relevant fields. This ongoing investigation holds the key to improving mental health. There is a scientific dialogue between researchers and clinicians especially when there are new innovations, analytical platforms, and discoveries. It is therefore important to keep up to date and abreast of current research into the biology and pathology of mental disorders. To address this, we have compiled a list of resources as recommended by researchers, physicians, practitioners, and others who actively work on the biology and pathology of mental disorders or associated conditions. Information on just over 200 organizations, scientific societies, regulatory bodies, and other web-based resources are included, as well as recommended books. |
