Abstract | Proteins are the fundamental building blocks for nearly every biological process in the human body. This translates to a clear link between adequate protein intake and maintaining good health and physical function. However, the optimal amount of protein needed isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer. Research is actively exploring how a multitude of factors can influence individual protein requirements. This ongoing investigation holds the key to personalizing protein intake for optimal health. It is therefore important to keep up to date and abreast of current research into protein intake in health and disease. To address this, we have compiled a list of resources as recommended by researchers, physicians, practitioners, and others who actively work on protein intake in health and disease or associated conditions. Information on over 100 organizations, scientific societies, regulatory bodies, and other web-based resources are included, as well as recommended books. |
