| Abstract | This chapter presents TriFlow-ILE, a validated multimodal evaluation framework for assessing creativity and flow states in immersive learning environments (ILEs). Building on pilot validation, the framework addresses methodological challenges in measuring cognitive and affective engagement through triangula-tion of three data sources: biometric assessment (EEG, ECG/HRV, GSR), validat-ed psychometric instruments (FSS-2, NASA-TLX, and others), and systematic behavioural observation. Grounded in creativity theory by integrating the Five A's model, the Four C model, and the Visceral-Ideational distinction, the frame-work captures both embodied and conceptual dimensions of learning engage-ment. Empirical research comparing physical artmaking (clay sculpting) with VR creation validates the framework's capacity to detect flow states invisible to sin-gle-modality assessment, including "silent flow" evident only in biometric data. As flow correlates with deeper learning, retention, and intrinsic motivation, ob-jective measurement enables evidence-based ILE design. The chapter provides practical recommendations for implementing triangulated evaluation methods, demonstrating how objective flow assessment can inform iterative development of immersive learning platforms that support meaningful educational experienc-es. |
